Cruisin' Man

Despite being sick since Friday with a stomach bug, Aiden has started to cruise and is so close to crawling (he'll take a couple crawls and then freak out). He also says "mamamama," though he has no clue what he's saying.

So Proud

Aiden and I are so proud of Jim for participating in the Polar Bear Plunge this past Saturday. He and 11,000 other people plunged into the icy Chesapeake Bay to raise money for Maryland Special Olympics. Not only was the temperature outside cold with wind, but there were literally ice chunks floating in the water. Jim raised over $300, and says he will definitely do it again in the future. Thank you so much Erich, Teddi, Aunt Sandy, and all our generous coworkers for donating to sponsor Jim!

A Fun Day Off!

I was off for Martin Luther King day, and Aiden and I had a fun day together with an unexpected snowfall. First, we went to storytime at Barnes & Noble with my Mommy group. This involved Aiden skipping his morning nap, which he's started to do on weekends (eek!) When we left storytime, it had started to snow, and we wound up getting about 2 inches. Aiden fell asleep drinking his pre-nap bottle. When he woke up from his nap, we played. When Daddy came home, we went out and played in the snow! Aiden wasn't quite sure what to make of the snow, but the dogs sure liked it.

Busy Beginning to 2009

Long time no post! We have had a very busy beginning to the new year. Jim was able to take off the same days I had off from school, which was fantastic (especially given how much time he had to take off for me and Aiden in February-March)! We enjoyed a lot of family time and the break went by way too quickly. We had many visitors over the holiday break, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and Canadians. We also made a surprise last-minute visit to Philly to visit Jim's grandmom, who was too sick to travel for the holidays, and we had lunch with friends before traveling back. Aiden screamed the whole car ride home, which is why we do not like to travel with him!

Jim and I have been really busy at our jobs since going back to work, and have been spending every spare minute with Aiden. Aiden still lacks mobility, but he seems to be getting closer to crawling and/or cruising. He is growing increasingly frustrated with the fact that he is not able to move where he wants to. He is also cutting his 7th and 8th teeth. Fun times!

If you haven't already, please sponsor Jim in the Polar Bear Plunge. It's for a great cause (MD Special Olympics). And come on...he's jumping in the cold, dirty water of the Chesapeake in January!

Daily Ritual

Aiden's daily ritual is to lift the rug up and make sure nothing is underneath of it hiding. When the dogs go outside he sits by the back door and watches them through the window, investigating under the mat at the same time. When I am getting changed after work he investigates under our bathroom bathmats. And in the pictures below, he is making sure nothing is out of place under the family room rug.

Messy Little Man

Aiden's had pasta before, like ziti or rotini, but this is his first time eating spaghetti. It was a royal mess! Aunt Lisa suggested we video tape it next time so you can get the full effect!
