Best.Anniversary.Ever
Friday marked the five year anniversary of our wedding. In some ways, it feels like it was just yesterday. In other ways, it's hard to believe it's only been five years. The many milestones Jim and I have conquered together the past five years:
2004: bought our first house
2005: furnished and rehabbed first house, got Sasha, I earned my first Masters degree
2006: saved Sammy from impending doom at the pound, Jim's father entered rehab (and is 3+ years sober!)
2007: sold our first house and bought our current house, painted most every wall and door and molding and installed hardwoods, spent a week at Lewes with the Williams', found out we were expecting
2008: Jim earned his Bachelors degree, I earned my second Masters degree, Jim got his license, enjoyed a wonderful baby shower prepared by my loving sister-in-law, Aiden's birth over a month early, my hospitalization with pneumonia, Lisa's wedding, enjoyed our first holiday season as a family of three in our own home
2009: Aiden's ear tube surgery, sharing Aiden's first birthday with our family and close friends, found out less than a week later that Jim lost his job, then got a new one within a week (God is good), watching Aiden take his first steps, watching him learn and grow and become a beautiful person....AND finally......
Jim got an email on Friday from the company that he had been doing some consulting for prior to being laid off from WBCM. They were begging him to come work for them!! On Saturday he drove the long five minutes from our house to the firm and spent an hour and a half on the best interview ever. He was of course offered the job. He will start August 3. In addition to the firm being five minutes from our house and five minutes from Aiden's daycare, which will be a huge plus over the late hours Jim is currently working, he will get two weeks of vacation time! Additionally, he is being promoted to architectural designer! This is something he was hoping for at WBCM.
This reaffirms my faith that things happen for a reason!!
